There are so many different types of door mats being sold today. So, how do you choose the best one for your needs?Â
First, you need to determine what size doormat you need. A front door mat at an apartment or home with a single door is typically anywhere from an 18″x24″ to a 24″x36″ size mat. The next step is to figure out what matters to you most (color, durability, scraping action, theme, etc.). If you care most about durability and scraping action then you generally want to go with rubber door mats, but if you care more about the look, colors, etc. than you will generally have more luck with carpet topped mats.Â
However, you can now often get the best of both worlds with colorful, themed, durable rubber door mats designed to bring beauty and functionality to the entry of your home. The wipe your paws doormat pictured is one example.

You might not think there’s much to door mats. Most people probably think of a front door or welcome mat as being a flat, boring, rectangular piece of rubber, or a fuzzy, scruffy section of material that is unattractive and there only to wipe off their feet, and to be (generally) ignored the rest of the time. Don’t you, now, when you stop to think about it, think that most people probably don’t even wash or clean their own front door mats?
Maybe it’s just me, but until I started learning about these fantastic mats available today, I always thought ornate or decorative door mats was kind of a silly investment, and that most of them were much too expensive. But nothing could be further from the truth. Recycled rubber door mats, for instance, are not only tough, durable, and practical; they’re also good looking, spacious, provide non-slip qualities, and help protect expensive flooring indoors by providing an excellent surface for wiping feet on porches and in breezeways.

Looking back over the years, I can’t say we’ve ever had much in the way of attractive or decorative welcome mats on our front porch, at home. My wife and I have been making some fairly extensive plans for some home renovations lately, and some of those include expanding our front porch.
Part of my plan—and I hope I can “sell†her on the idea, too—is to buy something beautiful and fitting for our front porch, like perhaps an attractive, 100% recycled door mat, or perhaps we’ll choose from among other rubber door mats that are much more colorful and beautiful to look at.
I know these door mats of today are not only, typically, made of recycled rubber, are very durable, easily cleaned, and highly resistant to sun fading, but just looking at them sort of causes me to marvel at what technology has made possible today. Take a look for your self to see what I’m talking about.

While we’re talking about the increasing popularity of eco-friendly products of every kind—not just mats—those who are unaware will be pleased to know about the abundance of gorgeous, 100% recycled rubber, eco-friendly door mats, like the one pictured here!
Fortunately for most societies around the world, the idea that something recycled is poorly made is no longer a commonly held belief. On the contrary, most customers not only hope for high quality in recycled and organically made products, they expect it! With this in mind, it’s better for the consumer that there are eco products like beautiful and durable recycled rubber door mats [welcome mats] that are not only exceptionally long-lasting, but are also very eye catching!

Welcome mats aren’t what they used to be, that’s for sure! Welcome mats are no longer unattractive and ignored. Front door mats and other entryway mats now range from rugged and sharp looking to elegant and quite decorative. In fact, welcome door mats, such as 100% recycled rubber door mats are almost attractive enough to frame! It almost doesn’t seem right to put these lovely items outside or where people are going to wipe their feet on!
For instance, take a look at the cute door mat pictured here. This is simply one among many, gorgeous, often colorful decorative door mats that are not only just that—decorative—but also extremely fade resistant, and easily cleaned; just spray with a garden hose, or perhaps brush with a tire brush.

If you’re looking for low-cost door mats in bulk, you can buy simplicity door mats by the case—12 per box—in a variety of colors. Perhaps you’ve got a large complex with many doors and you would like some uniformity but without too great of cost; that’s when buying in bulk is the best way to go. Fortunately, these mats can also be purchased individually as well.
Or, if you’ve got the budget for it, you might consider something more “homey†and opt for decorative door mats like those you might place on your own front doorstep—and you just might! There’s quite an admirable array of 100% recycled rubber door mats to choose from, and knowing they’re not only eco-friendly, but extremely durable, easily cleaned, resistant to sun fading and wear…why not go ahead and include a couple for your home?

We’ve said the older, time-tested, rubber outdoor entrance mat is still around in the world of door mats, and we meant it! The reason being? Rubber mats for outdoor use, are very practical and desirable; some basic needs just don’t change, and durable, rubber door mats are appropriate for so many situations.
For instance, if you have a patio or some stone or brick steps where you would like to place a large, rubber mat to protect against slips when your patio is wet, covered in ice, or simply where you’d like a softer place for people to step, or a where a need for people to wipe their feet, perhaps decorative front door mats aren’t really what you would look for to suit your needs. That’s one instance when the “good, old-fashioned”, rubber outdoor entrance mat just can’t be beat!

When you’re looking for entrance door mats with carpet top, rubber welcome mats just don’t cut it, now do they? Sure, recycled rubber door mats are gorgeous and are great for greeting guests, who need to wipe their shoes, but you can’t expect those arriving at your business or even home to stand out in the rain, if you don’t have a covered porch, wiping their feet—especially if they don’t happen to have an umbrella, now can you?
And you don’t have to worry about spending an arm and a leg for decent entrance mats, either. Low cost entry door mats are readily available and come in a variety of colors and appearances to fit most any taste and need—typically in conservative profiles, so as not to draw unwanted attention to them selves.

Recycled rubber door mats are a gift. Â How so? Â The face of not only American society is changing, but also the worlds. Recycling of goods is prominent in the consciousness of just about everyone around.
Most larger, U.S. municipalities require residents to recycle recyclable goods—plastics, Styrofoam, glass, cans, etc—and even charge penalties for violators who throw away recyclable items. So how are 100% recycled rubber door mats a gift? Because these gorgeous entryway mats don’t look like anything you would imagine recycled door mats to look like, that’s why!
What a marvelous thing, don’t you think? To reuse resources and turn them into things of beauty…only to do so all over again when those things wear out!  Now that’s a gift.  And this remarkable trend has bled over into broader areas, such as recycled rubber playground surfaces. Easy to clean…durable…beautiful. Why not give one to each family member for the holidays? Or even just to promote green living?

People might not plan home remodeling around their choice of front door mats…but you can certainly find selection enough of durable, beautiful, recycled rubber door mats to coordinate with your remodeling plans. Not only have selections of beautiful welcome mats increased dramatically in recent years [thank you, eco-friendly, recycling!], but even designs and patterns for commercial or industrial entry way mats gotten a bit snazzier lately!
There are even specialized 3-stage commercial indoor carpet mats specifically designed with entryways, breezeways, and entrances to take on the heaviest of traffic, while looking attractive as well as remaining practical. And to think people used to use old pieces of indoor or office carpet to serve as front door or entrance mats!
Thank goodness we’ve come to our senses!
