Kids Rugs For Your Car!

Now I think we all know that at this point I am a bit of a MacGuyver when it comes to most things. Be it home repair, computers, and even my precious life giving vehicles. As most people in California know; you won’t get very far – literally, without a car or vehicle of some sort.  However in these trying times it may be out of one’s budget to get a new car, so you are inevitably lead towards the strange world of used cars.

I have recently procured a used car of my own. Now with the incredibly affordable price tag also came the, shall I say, removal of certainly key amenities. One of these most notably being my “new” car had absolutely no floor matting of any kind. Now is the time for one to get clever and envision solutions in places where none would present themselves. Now I like themes, and love to upholster in keeping with said themes.

So kids mats to the rescue! I myself being a big kid at heart, this seemed perfect for the recently acquired car. So in lieu of floor matting I installed our play rugs; namely the city cars play mat. I feel that it perfectly matches the motif of my vehicle.  So the next time you think something is un-solvable just think; what would Stag do?

Play Mat For Hours Of Fun!‘Tis The season

HO! HO! HO! ‘Tis the season to be. . . well, maybe not jolly, who can work themselves all the way up to jolly these days? However, a lightening of the mood is certainly in order when considering what to stuff into stockings or put under the tree for your rug rats dujour.  Since the advent of electronic gizmos, gadgets and gewgaws is now totally out of hand, may I suggest a lower tech option?

For preschoolers, may I suggest our fun and colorful set of play carpets?  Dream houses, roadscapes of every size and location, learning rugs, and game mats.

Imagine this, no electronic bloop bloop, bleep bleep come Christmas morning, just an old fashioned gaggle of giggles as chutes are being laddered, Par is being cheesied and scotch is being hopped. I don’t know about you but my son has a fleet of cars that are ready to hit the carpeted road at any given second. Fortunately, he never has to worry about getting tired of the same toy car commute because MatsMatsMats.com has a gazillion car, boat and airport maps. (My son has staged many “near miss” airplane/car catastrophes, narrowly averted by the quick thinking of the level headed pilot, young Captain Green of the Greenhouse airways flight 101.

It’s harder every year to connect to kids. The continuing migration to online entertainment is putting up an almost insurmountable electronic divide in families. We, as parent have fed this monstrosity by giving the latest gadget to our progeny. It is time to fight back against this virtual reality juggernaut by giving our children real games instead of digital ones. I am excited by the possibility of connecting with my kids over a game of marbles, of a rousing thrash on the Parcheesi mat, beanbag toss tick tac toe. Talk about a “throw back!”

I remember in my own house, all of us kids opened our gifts with undiluted glee and greed as we received our yearly allotment of Santa Swag. However the biggest moment was always Santa’s gift to the family. This present was usually the most momentous and eagerly anticipated by the entire family. One year it was a color TV, another it was a new used car. The ones I remember the most were the family games. Usually a pile of games ranging from checkers to Parcheesi. One year it was a gigantic slot car track. It was always special and among my favorite family memories.

I intend to continue this tradition in my own family with a giant play mat for us all. How about you?
