A Kneeling Pad Is Not Only Used When Gardening!

Posted on: August 21st, 2015 by

Kneeling Pads For Working On Your Garden!A long while ago now; my friends and I all went in on a very nice personal telescope. This is a very serious piece of hardware. Much larger than what you naturally think of when you picture a personal telescope. It weights, easily 120 pounds and takes at least two people to set up properly and safely. Be that as it may; we have used it quite a bit over the years. From taking it to local spots to even taking it with us camping in the mountains. Due to the size of it the aperture (the eye-piece that is) is quite low – maybe two feet from the ground. This can sometimes make it a bit hard – literally to kneel or lay while using it.

This is why we started using the kneeling pads and anti-fatigue mats to lay and kneel more comfortably and for a longer period of time while doing our star-gazing. They come in very handy and make it so much better when having to kneel down on rocks or whatever else is along the ground in the deserts or mountains.  If you are a fellow amateur astronomer as well, I heavily recommend a kneeling pad and foam fatigue mat. Trust me – your knees and back will thank you for it!

Anti Fatigue Mats Make A Big Difference In The Work Place!

Anti Fatigue Mats Will Keep Your Workers On Their Feet Longer!I’ve talked about anti fatigue mats before, but I’m going to talk about them again! A simple 2’x3’ Anti Fatigue mat can make a huge difference at your business for a few reasons. I’m going to use a restaurant as an example because it’s my only real life experience. I used to roll silverware after a long day of serving tables. It’s part of every servers side work and probably the most hated task. But it has to be done. I can do about 6 rolls every minute. In 30 minutes, that 180 rolls. Multiple that by 20 people (servers and hosts) and you get 3,600 rolls of silverware for one day of food service.

Now let me paint you a picture…

Since the managers know each person can do about 180 rolls in thirty minutes, that’s what they expect. After about 5 minutes, or only 30 rolls, my legs start to hurt and I’m bending over to relieve back pain. Shifting my weight only works for so long.  Knowing I have to do 180 rolls, I start getting faster and faster. My rolls are getting looser, but I don’t care. MY BACK HURTS! My 180 rolls turn into about 90-120 usable rolls, since a lot of them fall apart and are unusable.

This makes for loose, unused silverware falling on the ground and having to be washed. Now the dishwashers have to re-wash unused silverware.  That doesn’t seem so bad until you multiply that by 20 people a day. Now your dishwashers are backed up from all the extra silverware and your cookware and plates are piling up. Since there are no plates or the appropriate cookware, your guests are waiting a long time for their food and will probably not come back.

Now your business is failing. All because you didn’t know to buy a mat that cost less than $50.00

A Good Anti-Fatigue Mat Can Change Your Life!

Posted on: January 22nd, 2015 by

Anti Fatigue Mats Are Ideal For Doing Dishes!A good anti-fatigue Mat can change your life! I spend at least an hour a day standing in my kitchen, cooking or doing dishes and if I’m having a particularly lazy week sometimes dished can take me an hour all by themselves.  Usually as I’m doing dishes I have some stand up comedy playing to distract me from the strain on my lower back and make the task as quick as possible.  Recently I wrote about a Marble Fatigue Mat to make your kitchen look nice and help with floor cleanup. What I didn’t mention was the intended benefits of the mat.

The other night I was doing my normal cooking and cleaning ritual with my comedy to distract.  Before I had time to think about my back pain, I had finished cooking, done the dishes, unloaded the dishwasher, wiped the counters and cleaned the floor- all with no pain. I thought maybe I had built up a tolerance and my pain would no longer be an issue, then it hit me. DUH! I was walking on Anti-Fatigue mats, and guess what? No fatigue!  Imagine that?

For a lot of people, the pain we feel  while standing is annoying but usually tolerable so as soon as we sit, it’s gone and we never think about it again until we’re standing.

After I made the decision to get the Marble Fatigue, I don’t put off cleaning and cooking as much as I used to. Now my daily tasks aren’t a strain, and I get so much more done! It’s crazy to think something so small can make such a huge difference in my motivation.

Anti Fatigue Mats And Drainage Mats That Are High Quality and Affordable!

Drainage Mat For Areas Where Fork Lifts And Carts Are Used!I was taking a tour of my friends new restaurant last week and It’s amazing how the right mats can make you so much more efficient. The restaurant isn’t open yet, but we were there for a soft opening and I got to watch all the servers and chefs in action.

To give you a better visual, let me talk about my first job as a host. The restaurant I worked at was always busy and I definitely wore more than a host hat, so I was constantly running around.  There were drainage mats in the bar area and by the dishwashers, but no other mats in the entire place.  You wouldn’t believe how much having to watch where you step slows you down.

After a few months of working there I had trained myself to not even pick up my feet in the kitchen; I and the cooks literally slid around because you were less likely to slip. In the server’s station, where if there was down time the host would make salads, I would do a little dance to adjust my legs and move my back and alleviate pain. I was young so I didn’t realize something was wrong and I just adapted.

Fast forward to last week and the environment in my friend’s restaurant was like night and day compared to my first experience. The back of the house (or kitchen) had non-slip drainage mats in all the walkways and there were anti fatigue mats in the server station.  The servers, who are practically running around the front of the house (or dining area) were able to move into the kitchen at the same pace with no worry about slipping.

The anti-fatigue mats around the areas where you’re stationary, like salad prep table or silverware rolling stations do more than help pain. I know, because I’ve been there, that people will put off side work or complete it lazily; therefore lacking in quality because it’s uncomfortable and irritating to stand on your feet especially if you’ve been running around for 4-8 hours.

You can bet money that one of the first things I’m going to equip my restaurant with someday is quality mats.  Whether you need anti fatigue mats or a drainage mat ours are affordable and high quality, I won’t have to replace them for years and I’ve seen first-hand how they can improve employee productivity and speed.

Anti-Fatigue Have Multiple Purposes!

Anti Fatigue Mats Will Reduce Noise and Vibration!“ Shake, No-Rattle and Roll “

For all of your audiophiles (a person enthusiastic about high-fidelity sound reproduction) out there; did you know that there is a cost effect way to reduce that troublesome speaker vibrations, rattles and low-end noise?  Anti-Fatigue Mats can certainly have multiple purposes and one of those would definitely be absorbing speaker vibrations. Something like the ergo-flex fatigue mats would work very well under a studio monitor or home theater speaker. Doing so would tighten up the low-end sounds and reduce any of the rumble noise from the speakers at high volume.

You commonly see this in high-end home or professional studios. But buy not in your home as well? I not only have padded all my speakers in my home with fatigue mats, but have also used a similar technique with rubber for my turntable. Simply put a thin layer under the turntable in order to reduce any inconsistencies and vibrations from the turntable.  This subtle little addition greatly improves the sound quality of any home sound system; especially if you are using a turntable of any kind.

I am certainly not an audiophile; at least in no official sense. But this little addition to my home sound system has definitely made my personal listening experience much better, and turned it into an experience indeed. If you are looking for a little extra kick and clarity to your music, definitely look into anti-fatigue mats and rubber mats for your equipment. Your ears will thank you!

Anti-Fatigue Mats Even Dogs Love!

Posted on: July 23rd, 2014 by

Anti-Fatigue Mats, So Your Dogs Can Eat Comfortably! The expression “one sick puppy” has earned a whole new meaning for me. I adopted a beautiful Mastif-Lab mix named Jolie about 3 months ago. She is the light of my life these days. At 18 months, she is now about 100 pounds of pure doggy happiness. She has turned me into a total doggy-daddy. I wake up every morning at 6am to go running or have some play time at the dog park. Sometimes with wifey, but lately.. not so much. I guess I can be an overbearing dad that worries about his princess a tad too much. “She’s not a child, she’s a dog!” is my girlfriends catch-phrase as of late. I just roll it off since it was HER idea to get a dog in the first place. An idea which I objected to. But I digress…

After about 2 – 2.5 hours, we have breakfast together and then it’s off to work. Once off work, we go on another long walk and play a bit at the apartment before she’ passes out or focuses her attention on one of her favorite toys. This is everyday now. There is no “day off” since these creatures are all encompassing responsibilities. Especially the breed since she’s still a puppy in the body of a lycanthrope. As if this wasn’t enough, we ran into a poor little Stafforshire Terrier tied up to a tree and abandoned across the street from the dog park we frequent on a fateful Friday morning. After reading the note left on him (his name is Ice, it turns out) we promptly took him to the shelter to try and identify his owner. No tags, no chip, and no identity, the 6-year old lad would have been put down in a weeks time. So I did the only thing a sucker for punishment would do to ensure the everlasting glare of his already over-doggyfied girlfriend… I took him home.

It’s been three weeks now and the apartment is almost completely doggy proof. With some ingenuity, we’re keeping the moose and lycanthrope (Ice is, himself, a hefty 85 lbs of slobbery awesomeness) from driving our downstairs neighbor insane. A few anti-fatigue mats under the area rug in the living room help make it more comfortable than without it. This helps us to keep the dogs from sleeping on the couch. Also, since they are BIG dogs, our new Pet Placemat keep their food bowls from sliding around. Luckily, the pups aren’t too fond of chewing on the mats. As far as chewing on my priced possessions, well… I’d probably do the same if I was a dog.

Rubber Fatigue Mat And Rubber Rolls For Your Little Invention Or Repair Areas!

Rolled Rubber - Ideal Flooring For The Handy Man Inside You!My roommate is a bit of a MacGyver, and with that comes the hazards and sometimes benefits of his madness. Though seeing as though we have a lease and my name is on it; I decided to take some precautionary measures and get some non-flammable fatigue mats for the house. Trust me! This is a definite necessity with my roommate. He is not the most…shall we say, observant person on the planet.  I know that he will be doing welding at some point or at the very least working with fire in some fashion to construct one of his (sometimes) useful mad-cap inventions.

To combat this I picked up weldmaster anti-fatigue mats and some rubber flooring to cover the surrounding area of his madman’s work area. This way he thinks that it’s for his benefit; and in a way it is. But at the same time it will serve to keep him from burning down the domicile that we have a lease for.  So if you have a maverick roommate or loved-one at home, I heavily recommend a rubber fatigue mat and rubber rolls for your little invention or repair areas. Trust me, they will thank you, and so will your home-owner’s insurance agent.

Anti-Fatigue Mats To The Rescue

Posted on: December 11th, 2013 by

Anti Fatigue Mats Make Standing In One Place More Comfortable!I am sure that I am behind the trend in a way; as I usually am. But I recently purchased a turntable or record player for the laymen. This was primarily sparked by my stock-pile of my father’s old vinyl records. Deciding that I wanted to actually listen to these albums and get some more of my favorite albums on vinyl; I went ahead and made the investment. Now growing up in the digital age more or less the specifics of turntables was lost on me. The sure number of exact things that have to be perfect to get the best sound is quite overwhelming at first.

As I learn more I am finding myself becoming a bit more of an audiophile (someone that is very into music and the quality thereof). With this I found that I was getting a bit of a hum from my moderately high-end speakers. I tried and tried to diagnose and remedy the problem. Then I realized that I needed a foam pad of some sort under the speaker so that it did not vibrate directly on my wood table that they rest upon. So Anti-Fatigue mats to the rescue it was. I found that the fatigue mats were the perfect low-cost alternative to the very very expensive sound studio grade foam, and that it worked just as well.

Now with the anti-fatigue foam comfortably resting under my speakers I have crisp and clear sound. Just perfect for some old and some new vinyl listening enjoyment. You can find a purpose for just about any mat, and with that many different purposes for any mat. I found mine, what is yours?

Commercial Flooring Your Silent Partner!

Posted on: October 1st, 2013 by

Anti-Fatigue Mats For The Workplace!Mats of all shapes and sizes are quite literally, right under your feet. At all times, in all manners or places and purposes you will find an entire army of mats at work. These silent partners go mostly unnoticed by most. Having emerged myself completely into the secret world of these mats I now see and find them everywhere I roam. For example last night I was out with a few friends; catching up and having a few drinks at our old watering hole. On the way out we all walked over, yet I was seemingly the only one that noticed the Crosshatch Entry Mats at the back door.

Each time I enter a retail location there is always some type of commercial entrance mats. These mats simply sit there, ever hard at work. They are the gate keepers of the corporate and retail empires. Commercial mats and rubber tiles line the production floors of the factories the produce some of your favorite technological items. From Televisions to Cars; their corridors are lined with Anti-Fatigue Mats and rolls or rubber. Their front offices guarded by office mats.

Mats are the silent partners of industry and if you look closely you will find them in all their various incarnations. The next time you’re out and visiting your favorite stores or haunts, turn your eyes to the ground and take a moment to notice the nameless workers beneath your feet. The mats are everywhere!

A Mexican Blanket And Its Many Uses!

Posted on: September 23rd, 2013 by

Mexican Blankets Are Very Useful!I love camping! There, I’ve said it. I love the outdoors, I love getting off the grid if only for a little while. Just you or perhaps some friends and the great outdoors. Now whether you choose the forest or the desert you know that temperatures can raise and drop pretty quickly. You know that the ground is certainly a cruel mistress, and you may have figured out that you need to think on your feet at times.

A good, yet seemingly random item to have that certainly comes in handy for a quick warm up would be a Mexican blanket. Nice and warm, easy to pack and pretty light weight. It comes in handy in a pinch on a long hike or just randomly around the fire when you need it. It is also perfect to use in combination with your yoga mat in the morning in place of a Bolster.

Everyone is different when it comes to sleeping arrangements. Some need less support, others need more. You would be surprised that you can easily use gymnastics mats for a very comfortable camping bed. They are easy to clean, plenty of support and relatively easy to pack for your so-called car camping adventures. However if you require something lighter for those longer walkabouts you may or may not be taking, I would recommend the trusted Anti-Fatigue mats. They are light weight and can be rolled to a small size and easily attached to a backpack.

All in all, you would be very surprised about what things may be used for “alternative” reasons, and in ways that the original manufacturers never really intended. So venture out dear reader, see the world…and bring a blanket.
