Anti Fatigue Mats Mats

A Drainage Mat And Anti Fatigue Mats Are Missing!

Non Slip Anti Fatigue Mats And Drainage Mats Complete This Kitchen!I just finished my first week back as a student and even with all the distractions of homework and studying I can’t get mats out of my head.

I’m learning to be a chef, with the hopes to run my own establishment someday, and safety in the kitchen is the number one thing we’re taught. There are so many little things I have to remember like placing knives a certain way, or wearing the proper non-slip shoes and making sure food is stored at proper temperature etc…  The first thing I noticed, while being lectured on the importance of non-slip shoes, is the kitchen had no drainage mat. NONE! Maybe since we’re not actually cooking just yet, they feel they’re not necessary. I’ve been all over the school learning where different supplies are, and I’ve seen everything you can possibly imagine for a kitchen- except a drainage mat.

It’s really odd that we spent almost a week learning about being safe and they don’t seem to have the very basic (and essential) products you would find in every professional  kitchen I’ve ever been in before, like safety mats!  For less than a tuition payment I can outfit the whole kitchen with enough drainage mats to protect every student’s station.

I understand why shoes are important, but when you’re standing in the same place for hours, I think good anti fatigue mats, safety mats and drainage mats would be a better option. I’m going to wait a few more weeks before I start telling my Chef his kitchen is ill-equipped!

Anti Fatigue Mats Will

Commercial Floor Mats Were Everywhere When I Went Back To School!Guess what people!? I’m going back to school! Don’t worry though, I’ll still be here to help you guys!

I’ve been out of school for about ten years, and am really nervous to go back. Not only am I like Grandpa student, it’s kind of expensive.  I’ve done the usual thing and received some grants, a scholarship and a few loans but I really need to get my spending under control if I want to be able to actually finish school!

My major will be culinary management so I’ll spend my days here with you guys and my nights standing on anti fatigue mats, cooking and learning what it takes to run my own restaurant. I’ve only gone to orientation, but already I feel like I got a little ahead of myself when I thought I knew what it takes to actually run a successful business. I’ve only ever really been an employee and I’m beginning to realize that we [employees] tend to think we know the how and why of everything… and there’s so much more.

We took a tour of our classrooms and the kitchens, and aside from the drainage mat I saw along with the non slip mat and anti fatigue mats I couldn’t name a darn thing. That’s when I got my idea of how I could help my school costs. Since I have access to a few of the material needed in a kitchen, maybe I can work out something with the school.  I need to find out how much they pay for the industrial kitchen mat they have, then beat that price and ask them to put half of the money they saved toward my tuition! Yet again I’m a genius. Make some sales for the company and help my future. Ha Ha… in a perfect world that would be awesome.

Recycled Rubber Flooring Has Many Uses!

You know…  Living in California, we rarely and randomly get rain. On more than a few occasions it’s started raining after a night out dancing and I’ve made a joke that it was my fault. Since I’m Native American I would say I must have accidentally done a rain dance.

I used to think I was joking, but now I feel there might be some truth behind it. It has to be a combination of dropping to the ground and moving your arms in a specific motion. I came to this conclusion last night after I spent 2 hours cleaning my floors. I shampooed the carpets, waxed the wood floors and cleaned the grout in my kitchen. I saved the task of cleaning the laundry room floors (where the dogs enter from outside and spend most their time) because they’re the worst and takes the longest.

Literally, less than an hour after I finished it started raining. Within that hour my laundry room floors looked disgusting. My dogs have this habit of lying in the dirt planter where the dryer exhaust is to keep warm. The problem is that it’s in a planter and usually muddy.  I’m not going to restrict my dogs from coming inside and I can’t seem to keep them from lying in the dirt, I need a solution.

I was thinking of getting some type of outdoor mats and I knew it had to have holes so I first thought of a drainage mat, but then I thought it wouldn’t be that comfortable for my dogs.  So, I thought about anti fatigue mats, but they would absorb too much water.  Then, I got it!  Our recycled rubber flooring Tuff-n-Easy tiles. The size of the rubber interlocking tiles will almost be a perfect fit and they come in a variety of colored fleck so it won’t look so blah. The only thing I would have to do is drill some holes for drainage.   My dogs could lay where they want, and I wouldn’t have to worry about them tracking in mud. Plus! The black surface will absorb heat and give them added comfort! If anybody has done this or maybe has a better idea, give me a call!

Heated Floor Mats Will Maintain The Heat In Your Relationship!

Have you ever noticed that a woman rarely asks for those things that she needs? She may say, “I’m thirsty.” But much like the character in “White Men Can’t Jump”, you can bet that she doesn’t want you to bring her a glass of water . . . unless she does.

I’m lucky that my wife of 23 years is so straightforward. If she wants a glass of water, she’ll say, “Next time you get up, would you bring me a glass of water?” (of course what she really means is “I’m thirsty and if you wish to sleep in safety tonight , you’d best get up and fetch me a glass of ice water with a lemon wedge and 2 freshly plucked mint leaves and sooner rather than later.”)

So when my darling better half mentioned that the floor in the kitchen was cold in the morning, I knew immediately that for the sake of my continued health, I would need to seek a remedy. I thought about buying long kitchen mats or some type of anti fatigue kitchen mats that would keep her feet from touching the cold floor and be comfortable. Nope, we already had one and it didn’t warm her feet enough when she stepped off the mat onto the floor.  I bought her extra thick socks. Nope, they made her feet sweat when not in the kitchen. I raised the temperature on the thermostat. Nope, she needs it to be frigid at night so she can put her ice cold feet in the middle of my back (something about my garbled muttering under my breath must lull her to sleep).

I was about to buy a cat and glue it to her slippers when it hit me.  There has GOT to be something on the internet to solve this. Brushing aside the heated subfloor section I noticed heated floor mats complete with adjustable Hi-Lo – Off switch. It comes in two sizes and is perfect for that ever so cold kitchen or bathroom floor.  I decided to get a heated footrest in our home office too.  The lord and protector of the manor triumphs again.

Now I just have to decipher her apocryphal musings about what a dreamboat Hugh Jackman is. (Wonder if I should strap on Ginsu knives and leap around in tights.)

Kneeling Pad – My True KneeSaver!

A Kneeling Pad Realy Makes A Difference!Over the years my true and trusty truck has certainly acquired some, shall we say “character”. By “character” I mean a fair amount of scratches, scrapes and dings. So, I have taken it upon myself, not being any kind of expert, novice or really having any idea of how to repair body damage on a vehicle other than having a credit card and knowing the location of my local auto supply store; to fix these above mentioned damages.

Now this certainly involves quite a bit of manual labor while in a crouching position. So, after the first weekend of this and making, what I would consider to be a good amount of progress, my knees were very sore and stiff. This was easily remedied with a few beers and vapor rub, but a friend of mine who actually works in the auto trade suggested his little trick of using small floor mats to help out with that. So armed with a new Kneeling Pad I started hacking and chipping, and banging away on this little project of mine.

As I am still not finished with my renovations to the ‘ol bucket of bolt, I have to say that at least my aging knees are in good standing thanks to these small anti fatigue mats that were suggested. True multi-use mat pads that will continue to be true knee savers for me personally.

I find that my knee saver kneeling pad, a small anti fatigue mat, has so many uses. Not only do they reduce knee pain and lower back stress, they are great when giving a bath to the little ones or to use to protect your knees when kneeling on any type of hard surface.  They are used so often in gardening that they are sometimes referred to gardening kneeling pads.

Switchboard matting protects employees from being shocked!

Remember rubbing your feet on the carpet then poking one of your siblings for a satisfying “ouch” from them? That little spark that goes from your finger to their face is the result of static electricity. I’m sure many of us did this constantly as we imagined ourselves a super hero or villain. Elecro-Boy, El Shocko, Electric Cedric… whatever. That tiny spark of electricity is the result of static charge and build up. Without getting into the science of it all, it goes something like this. Your body conducts electricity and has a particular amount of charge, when you rub your feet wearing just socks you are building up electric charge on your body. That electric charge needs somewhere to go and the favorite places for electricity to go is other ‘conductors’ of electricity. Generally, other people (fun!) or metals. In high end tech industries, be it “I.T.” with it’s hallways o server racks, power plants with low voltage operating panels, or say even your computer at home, static charges can be a death sentence if enough of it is built up and you happen to touch the wrong part of the equipment! It actually happens rarely in my experience but when it does, it’s VERY costly. This is why more power plants have floor mats known as  switchboard matting to protect employees from being shocked by high voltage equipment.  Info-servers and just about anywhere with sensitive equipment requires some form of static dissipative flooring where the operators stand. This helps to take the charge out of the body, before it can make contact with any of the equipment.  Many employers have anti fatigue mats for their employees who stand on their feet for long periods of time as well.

Recently, I acquired a pair of VERY expensive, VERY loud, and VERY discontinued speakers. They are made with a particular type of Beryllium drivers which makes them a) illegal to manufacture now but b) gives them an extremely detailed and rich sonic character. Basically, right after new years, I set these puppies up after having been in storage for about 2 years. After all the wiring was finished, I fired them up for a test run. Big, rich, beautiful sound. I was in Nirvana. Then, like an ass, I decided I wanted to literally TOUCH the metal grille of the tweeter when I see a tiny spark, POP, and suddenly, the right speaker sounds muffled and dark… I blew out the tweeter. For those of you not privy to audio, the tweeter is the smallest speaker which handles all the high end. With it blown and discontinued, I decided to get a grounding from MatsMatsMats.com to put from a metal frame on my desk to ground. Now before I touch ANYTHING in my room that is plugged into a wall, I make sure to touch the desk first to dissipate the static charge.

On a side note, I still feel like a super hero every time I shock someone.

Non Slip Mats For Your Workers Because You Care!

Drainage Mats are ideal for bars, kitchens and industrial areas. There’s nothing more fun than laughing at someone that hurt themselves, especially if it happened in a funny way. But as entertaining as it may be, slips are no laughing matter. As a kid growing up in the restaurant industry I spent lots of weekends pretending to be a cook or waiter, probably annoying the actual cooks and servers, and I witnessed a fall or two.

My dad was always very particular about the safety of his employees. Whether it was escorting his servers to their cars after hours, making sure they have a safe ride home, or providing them with necessary non-slip shoes and non slip mats – safety was number one. The funny, semi ironic, part is my dad would neglect his own safety. He would opt for dress shoes, figuring as the owner of the business he should stand out and look nicer. Problem is I’ve witnessed my dad fall AT LEAST 5 times in my life, once putting him in the hospital. Thankfully none of his employees have ever injured themselves because workmans comp claims can be outrageous. Unluckily for him, I didn’t work at MatsMatsMats.com at the time and couldn’t let him know how easily and affordable he could have prevented an injury….or 5 in his case.

According to my research there were almost 11,000 serious work injuries caused by slipping or tripping last year and many claims for compensation. They are the most common cause of major injuries at work.

One of the most common causes is because of inadequate flooring or the cleaning of floors. A simple solution would be nonslip anti fatigue mats with drainage holes. The surface will keep your employees from slipping and the drainage holes will help keep debris and spills from staying on the surface. The floor in a workplace has to be suitable for the type of work activity needed. Workers should be able to walk on a floor without fearing that they might slip and any cleaning of it has to be properly notified to the workforce by notices or warnings. The employer is under a duty to maintain flooring to ensure that there are no trip hazards such as tears or holes and if there are changes of level then they should be highlighted. Regrettably people who work with us are often responsible for slipping accidents, they fail to deal with spillages, leaving it for someone else to clean up or they abandon wrappers on floors causing a hazard to others.

My point is if you have the correct matting, whether it be safety mats or anti fatigue mats or both, you can potentially save yourself a lot of hassle and money. In 2010 the average lost-work claim was about $65,000, according to the Workers’ Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau of California. For a small fraction of that cost you could easily equip your entire space with one of many many many matsmatsmats!

Sticky Mats And Anti-Static Mat Are A Big Part Of Modern Day Technology!

I have more than a few very tech-savvy friends. One of which actually works for a company that makes processors and microchips for a whole host of different computer and hardware manufactures.  He works in the “Clean-Room” with the actual chips themselves, doing the platting and quality control for the manufacturing. I don’t know about most of you, but I find this kind of thing very interesting and I recently asked him if I could check this place out.  He and his management were quite accommodating in that fact and I got the grand tour sort of speak.

Now if you are not familiar with processor and micro productions, the “Clean-Room” is just like what it sounds. You see any small amount of dust or dirt can severely damage small electronic equipment. So before the staff enters the processing center and the Clean-Room they have to essentially de-contaminate themselves.  They have a massive spray room that cleans them off, then they pass through a series of sticky mats that will take the dirt and partials off of the bottom of their shoes. With each pass they clean more and more.  Then and seemingly most importantly they pass over and usually stand upon an anti-static mat that are grounded with a grounding wire to remove any static charges. If anyone had even a small amount of static on them they could completely destroy a tiny little processor cell that in its self has hundreds of microscopic wires in it; and worth quite a bit of money to say the least.

I would have to say that it was definitely an interesting day.  Seeing all the technology and painstaking work that really goes into making these tiny little things that without we would not be able to use any of the comforts that we have come to enjoy. Televisions, Computers, Cellphones, all run off of similar little processors. To think, that without these non-static industrial mats and tacky mats it would be almost impossible to make them.  Food for thought indeed.

Non-Slip Mat And Drainage Mat Make Kitchens Safe!

The hardest thing I deal with, working in sales, is selling people stuff! I loathe nothing more than somebody trying to talk me into something. When you do that, it makes me feel like you’re just trying to make a buck. Every once in a while I see an opportunity where I really want to help someone, but the only way to do that is to sell them one of our products and I don’t know how to bring it up. This is my current dilemma :

My best friend is a Pastry Chef and she’s complaining about her feet and back and also almost tripping at work. I immediately am thinking, oh she needs anti fatigue kitchen mats.  Turns out they have carpet runners all over the kitchen, which is horrible! Not even basic anti fatigue mats?  I grew up in the restaurant industry and I know how wet slippery and gross the kitchen floors can get, so I understand why they have runners everywhere (Technically all employees should have ‘non-slip’ shoes, but realistically they don’t).  If you’re a chef and you’re on your feet, in the same spot, for 8-12 hours a day, you need more support than just a ¼” piece of carpet.  Plus carpet just soaks up gook and I’m sure smell like grease.   Â

I really want to hook up my friend’s restaurant with a good drainage mat, which will not only reduce slipping hazards but will also help the joints of all people involved but I don’t know how to bring it up! Especially since she’s not the deciding party. Matsmatsmats offers a large selection of quality anti-fatigue mats.  I have no doubt that we have the right non-slip floor mats that best suits her needs and her bosses budget. What I should really do is gift her one and hopefully her bosses will see it, like it, ask her where she got it, and call me themselves. Yay product placement!

Anti Fatigue Mats For Christmas Gifts?

Personalized Carpet Mats make great gifts! This is a very busy time of year all around.  At home there are dinners to plan, decorations to put up and gifts to buy.  At work we have been making sure there are people on the phones to answer your calls, stock in the warehouse and ensuring things go out on time. I’m mentally prepared for high volume of calls, figuring I’d be selling a lot of our in stock folding mats or a balance beam, but I’m talking to more people about Anti Fatigue mats and Carpet mats than any of our more typical holiday items. I don’t quite get it. I know most of the country is being rained or snowed on, and I’m sure keeping floors clean is probably a big concern, but I might be upset if I received and Anti Fatigue mat for Christmas. Not that it isn’t a great product, but I would only buy somebody something so practical if it was expensive and our mats so aren’t!

The Carpet logo mats I kind of understand.  They’re very practical for keeping your floors clean and dry but they’re customizable so you can create a unique one of a kind gift for someone. One of my co-workers actually bought one for her husband for his garage. Now he has something cool to look at and she knows all the garage crud won’t be tracked in on his shoes into their house.

Speaking of the garage!! And this is totally off subject, but I just had a customer put Tuff-n-Easy tiles in his garage and I want to now! We advertise that they’re meant for gym or garage flooring, but I personally have never had somebody use them in the garage. According to my customer the tiles have a very professional clean look and protects his cement. I wouldn’t think the garage floor is something you’d be concerned with “protecting”, but I guess over time oil and whatever else can make it look pretty gross. Also, if you have weights or heavy equipment you can be sure if you drop them they won’t crack the floor or me damaged by it.
