Vinyl Flooring Unique Use!Posted on: October 17th, 2013 by Stag
I had a customer recently that was looking to modify his existing flooring in his old 70’s off-roading Jeep. He decided on using our vinyl flooring Switchboard Corrugated Runner to cover the floor in his cab. I had honestly never thought of using a vinyl runner for this purpose, but I have to say that it is quite ingenious! When you have a rugged Jeep that you take off-road and into the desert having some good durable flooring for the cab is pretty essential.
For those that are not familiar with the older model off-road Jeeps; they don’t have any doors, they are very much bare-bones. So with that they also don’t have floor mats of any kind. So what this customer did is take the long roll of vinyl and cut it in pieces to fit the sections of the floor of the cab that needed to be covered. Then he took some Polyurethane Adhesive tubes and glued these pieces to the floor of the Jeep itself.
So now he had a floor that could be cleaned easily and that could take a lot of abuse while being in the elements. Vinyl Floors are very durable and even though they are tough they can be easily cut to shape and size to fit just about anything. This customer’s little project turned out quite well and he has already taken it out for its maiden voyage. Perhaps one day, if I every acquire a Jeep of my very own, I’ll do the same.
